UTICA - Richard (Dick) James Stott, of Utica, New York, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the age of 81. Dick died peacefully at home, with his beloved wife, Susan, by his side.
Dick was born in Utica, on January 15, 1941, to father, Floyd Stott and mother, Ruth Stott. He worked at and retired from Utica National Insurance Company. He was an avid NY Giants fan and enjoyed many hobbies, including playing cards and board games, dancing and outdoor life in the Adirondacks around the campfire. He will be fondly remembered by many for his sharp wit, sense of humor and countless words of sage advice for friends and family members.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Matthew Stott.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Stott; children, Michael (Robin) Stott, David (Anne) Stott and Daniel (Kimberly) Stott; grandchildren, Michael Stott, Jr., Samantha Stott, Haley Stott, Henry Stott and Beatrice Stott.
To honor Dick’s wishes, a private Graveside Service for immediate family will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Whitesboro, New York.
People wishing to honor Dick’s lifelong love of animals may make a donation in his name to their local Humane Society.
Arrangements have been lovingly handled by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, in St. Johnsville, New York, (518) 568-2300.
