Richard G. Roberts

FORT PLAIN – Richard G. “Ziggy” Roberts, 70, of Stone Arabia Road , passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam , New York . A very special thank you is extended to St. Mary’s 4 ^th Floor and to Hospice.

He was born in Lowell , Massachusetts and attended LaSalle High School , Troy , NY , graduating with the class of 1967. He was a US Postal Service Letter Carrier, Rotterdam , New York . He was drafted into the US Army, having served during Vietnam and subsequently was a member of the Fort Plain VFW. He was a Beatle maniac, and loved collecting their memorabilia. He loved sports as well.

He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (LaMorticello); her children, Richard and Raymond LaMorticello; and Ray’s son, Vincent, who loves the Beatles just like Ziggy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 11:30 AM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery , 200 Duell Road , Schuylerville , New York , with the presence of full military honors.
