Richard W. Phillips

February 28, 1954 — October 5, 2024

LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Richard W. Phillips, age 70, of Stairs Road, Town of Perth, New York, passed away, on October 5, 2024, in the St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, New York, after a brief illness.

He was the son of Charlotte (Whitcomb) Phillips and the late Grant W. Phillips, born in Little Falls, on February 28, 1954. Rich graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1972 and later took course studies at Clarkson University, the recipient of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. This led to his fulfilling career where he worked diligently with C.V. Engineering, Harriman, New York. On January 11, 1992, Rich was united in marriage with Kirsten Morotti, at the Universalist Church. This union was a testament to true love.

Rich was a highly respected member of the family. Like his dad, he enjoyed being a member of the Masonic Lodge, was proud to have been an Eagle Scout and was always happy to go to Red Camp, fish and golf. He loved pets, especially mentioning Blu Jasper. One of his greatest personal milestones was to have been a 20-year ‘proud’ member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Rich is survived by his wife, Kirsten Morotti Phillips; his mother, Charlotte Phillips, of Little Falls; his sister, Barbara (Phillips) and spouse, Greg Techmanski, of Whitesboro, NY; his only nephew, Maury VanDervort, of Vernon, NY; his sister-in-law, Frances Thomas, of St. Johnsville, NY; his brother-in-law, James Morotti, of Florida; along with many cousins and special friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Grant W. Phillips; as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Filomena Morotti.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Mass to be offered by Father Jack Whritenour, Rector. The burial will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, in Inghams Mills, immediately following. There are no calling hours.

The family would like to thank everyone at the hospital and their inner circle for their love and support during this very difficult time.

Arrangements have been made with the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, New York, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors (315) 823-2424.
