MOHAWK: Richard R. Luke, 90, passed away on Friday evening, June 6, 2014 with the love and support of his family.
Born in Bloomingdale, NJ on December 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Evelyn (Tanner) Luke. On July 25, 1943, he married the former Louise Gould; the couple sharing 70 years of love and commitment toward each other. During his working career, Richard worked as a large machinery operator for the Alexander J. McKen Construction Company in Bloomingdale, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Louise of Mohawk, a son, David Luke and wife Sue of the Town of Warren; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sons, Richard C. Luke and Gary E. Luke.
In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011 are under the direction of Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
