Richard Lawlor

Richard P. "Rick" Lawlor Sr., 50, currently of Ilion, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 28, 2004. Rick was born May 29, 1954, in Holland Patent, son of James and Mildred (Shorer) Lawlor. He was a graduate of Holland Patent High School and the University of West Virginia. Rick also served his country with the U.S. Army. At one time he was married to Cheryl (Judson) Lawlor. Rick recently retired from the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica, where he was a therapist aid with 21 years of dedicated service. At one time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. He lived for his beloved children. Surviving are his children, Donna Marie Lawlor and Richard P. "Rick" Lawlor II of Chadwicks; their mother, Cheryl Lawlor, also of Chadwicks; his mother, Mildred Lawlor of London Towers, Ilion; two brothers, Kenneth Lawlor of North Carolina and Frank Lawlor of Utica; one sister, Sharon Jordan of Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, including Maria Babula of Marcy. He was predeceased by his father and two brothers, Pat and Jim Lawlor. There are no public calling hours. All services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. All arrangements were entrusted to the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion.
