Mr. Richard L. Baker, Jr., age 83, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the MVHS St. Elizabeth Campus.
Born on October 19, 1939, in Herkimer, Richard was the son of the late Richard L. Baker, Sr. and Katherine M. (Miller) Baker. He was raised and educated locally.
For thirty-two years, Richard worked at GE before taking a position at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, retiring as a supervisor.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Lowther) Baker, of Utica; his children, Bonnie Keller, Robert Baker and Brandon Baker; his grandchildren, Douglas Marquissee, Christopher Marquissee, Tiffanie Kilts, Eric Keller, Holly Keller, Brandon Baker, William Baker, Nicole Baker, Sheila Baker and Robert Baker; and his twelve great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Sheila Rockwell and her husband, Wayne, of Little Falls; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his son, Allan Baker.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes there will be no formal funeral services at this time. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011.
