Mr. Reinhold L. "Reiny" Senft, 86, of Little Falls entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, 2003 in his home. He was born on February 9, 1917, a son of the late George and Rose (Becker) Senft and was educated in Little Falls Schools. He joined in marriage with the former Elizabeth "Betty" Peknik in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Herkimer on September 1, 1939. Ron was a proud United States Army, World War II veteran enlisting on November 4, 1942 and was honorably discharged on December 12, 1945. He served in the 3rd Army, 20th Corp. and was the recipient of five campaign stars for Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, central Europe and Ardennes. He also received the American Service Medal, the European Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was last employed with the Cherry-Burrell Corporation, retiring after 38 years of dedicated service. Ron was an avid reader and was very proud of his camp on Keyser Lake that he built in 1939. He was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post#31, and the Little Falls VFW Post #4612. He leaves his beloved wife, Betty of Little Falls, a daughter Susan Michelle and Charles J. Crimmins, Little Falls, three cherished granddaughters, Erica Wheet and husband Toby of Little Falls, Sarah Harrer and husband Joseph of Penfield and Laura Crimmins and friend Jeffrey Nichols, two beloved great grandchildren, Jakob and Natalie Wheet. He is also survived by a special niece, Marilyn Pierce and husband Gary of Little Falls, niece, Carol Peknik, nephews, Kenneth Senft and wife Alma of PA, William Senft of PA., John and Sharon Senft of Virginia, several cousins, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Joseph, William and Henry Senft and a nephew Joseph Senft. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Saturday, November 29, 2003 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Ron's funeral will commence at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. James Paulson, of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls, officiating. The Little Falls American Legion Post #31 will gather at the funeral home at 2 pm on Saturday to conduct their service. The Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula V.F.W. Post #4612 will gather at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday to conduct their service. Procession will follow to Mountain View Cemetery, Little Falls where Ron will be laid to rest.
