Raymond W. Swartz, Jr.

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mr. Raymond W. Swartz, Jr., age 83, a lifelong Village resident and most recently of 7 Timmerman Avenue, this Village, passed away peacefully, on November 19, 2024.

He was born on July 6, 1941, in the Town of Minden, a son of the late Raymond W. Sr., and Beatrice (Bowers) Swartz. He attended St. Johnsville schools. He worked for the Village, for many years.

Raymond was known for his caring nature and love for everyone around him. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and hanging out and being a member at the local firehouse, where he shared many happy moments with his friends and community. Raymond will be remembered for the kindness and joy he brought to the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his niece, Brenda Groff and her companion, Jeremy Sweet; his nephew, James and April Sharp; and great-nieces, Amber, Tiffany and Shelby.

Raymond was predeceased by his sister, Priscilla Heaton; his brother, Richard Swartz; and sister-in-law, Priscilla Swartz.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the New Beginnings Bible Church, 63 Cliff Street, Canajoharie, New York. Raymond’s plot and stone are at St. Johnsville Cemetery.
