Raymond Cave

Raymond "Ray" Cave, age 75, a long time Ilion resident, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion, where he has been a resident. Ray was born July 15, 1924 in Old Forge, N.Y. son of the late Raymond and Mable Belle Cave. Ray shared many years with his devoted companion and friend Grace (Mergenthaler) Cave. He worked as a Chef in many local restaurants for many years. Surviving Ray is his companion Grace, now residing at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, and several extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, William, Dave, and Louella Cave. In keeping with Ray's wishes there are no calling hours or funeral services. Interment will take place this spring on the Cave lot in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Those wishing to do so may consider memorials in Ray's name to the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home Foundation. Donation envelopes are available at the APPLEGATE & DAY FUNERAL HOME, 102 West St., Ilion. All arrangements were entrusted to the APPLEGATE & DAY FUNERAL HOME, Ilion.
