CLAYVILLE-SCHUYLER – Peter Kravec, age 77, of Church Rd., Clayville, formerly of Schuyler, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on October 29, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, the son of John and Anna (Chuhurlya) Kravec. He attended a one room school house, in Schuyler and later Frankfort-Schuyler Schools. Peter was married to Madaline “Maggie” Hill, in Poland, on October 29, 1979. He worked at Valley Chuck & Tool Co., Frankfort Center and later was employed at MDS, Herkimer. Mr. Kravec also worked as a sign shop worker, at O.W. Hubbell & Sons, Yorkville, NY, for many years. Peter enjoyed mushroom picking, tractor pulls, mowing neighbor’s lawns, walking his dog and adopting the neighborhood cat, Rocky.
Surviving family members include his wife, Maggie; his children: Peter Kravec, of Clayville and Patti Ann Coffin and her husband, Adam, of Ft. Ann, NY; his brother, John Kravec, of Schuyler; his grandchildren, Michael, Zachary and Samantha, also grandchildren, Tamra, Layden and Zaylee and their mother, Shari Ford; his great-grandchildren, Fae and Colton; sisters-in-law, Dawn Hill and Mary Nephew; his aunt, Mary Sothck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Mike and Nick Kravec; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends and relatives are invited to Peter’s Celebration of Life, on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Herkimer County Fair Grounds, Frankfort, NY.
Arrangements are entrusted to his family Funeral Director and family friend, Don Applegate, at Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Homes, of Ilion (315-895-7722).
