Penny Reel, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 26, 1958, Penny was the beloved daughter of Beverly (Nichols) and John B. Noonan. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Penny touched the lives of many through her caring heart, unwavering support of family and friends, and the warmth she brought into every room.
She found joy in the simple moments spent with loved ones and treasured the memories created with family throughout her life. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those fortunate enough to know her.
Penny’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace and forever free from pain. Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her memory and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents, nephew Chris Noonan and her special little buddy Douglas J. Morgan. She is survived by one brother, Bernard Noonan her many children; Rebecca Miller-Celi and her wife, Kimberley, Angie Carnright and her husband Russ, Jason March and his wife Becky, Elizabeth Reel and her partner Dennis Pierce, Matt Reel and his partner Sara Halliburton, Courtney Reel and her partner Patrick “PJ” Burdick. She also left behind her grandchildren: Shelby, Kassi, Cheyanne, Sabrina, Allie, Dillon, Trenton, Blake, Megan, Anastasia, Wyatt, Noah, Madison, Keira, Sawyer, Jasper, Logan and Adrianna. Great- grandchildren; Nova, Hayden, Natalie, Maliegha, Jaxson and Josie. She also leaves behind many cherished foster children, nieces, nephews and special friends. Also her loving canine companions: Kindle and Sassy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Penny’s life at Enea Ciaccia Family Funeral Home on Thursday May 28, 2026, from 4:00pm-5:00pm, where memories and stories will be shared in honor of a life so deeply loved. Following services at the funeral home, all are welcome to join the family in remembering Penny at the Herkimer VFW from 6:00pm-8:00pm, 131 Mohawk St, Herkimer NY 13350.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered love, prayers, and support during Penny’s illness, with special care given by her daughters-in-law, Kimberley Miller-Celi and Sara Halliburton. Special friends Florence Doolen, Kelly & Bandit Hughes and Dale Richer.
