MOHAWK: Paul A. Lowell, 60, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with his loving family by his side.
Born in Herkimer, NY on June 19, 1954, he was the son of the late George and Nellie (Preston) Lowell, Sr. He was raised and educated locally and on September 2, 1989, he married the former Mary Jo Varin sharing a 25 year union. Paul was employed for North Hudson Woodcraft of Dolgeville.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jo; his son, Erik Lowell and wife Kelly of Mohawk, his daughter, Paula Anna and husband Ken of Poland; his cherished grandchildren, Aiden Neil Lowell and Kendra Anna; a brother, Ron Lowell and wife Barb of Ilion; sisters, Claudia Lowell of Ilion, Linda Franklin and husband Russ of Newport and Sharon Ackerman and husband Dean of Rome. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Donny Varin, Jr., several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, George "Butch" Lowell, Jr., and a sister, Gloria Fogerty.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) 315-894-8000. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM, just prior to the service.
