Paul T. Federico

November 26, 1930 — December 18, 2023

Mr. Paul T. Federico, age 93, currently of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and formerly of Little Falls, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 18, 2023, with his loving family at his side.

Born on November 26, 1930, Paul was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (DiNitto) Federico. He was raised and educated in Little Falls and upon his graduation from high school he attended Mohawk Valley Community College.

On April 12, 1951, Paul enlisted with the United States Army and served as a tank commander in Germany before his honorable discharge on April 1, 1953. He remained a proud veteran throughout his life.

On October 3, 1953, Paul was wed to the love of his life, the former Shirley Bowen, in St. Joseph’s Church in Little Falls. Their marriage spanned seven decades, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They truly served as role models to the generations that followed and held hands until the very end.

Paul’s career was spent in the aerospace industry and he retired after a lengthy employment with General Electric. After his retirement and as he and Shirley grew older, they decided to relocate to warmer weather and established their home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Together they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his free time, Paul kept busy doing Tanglewords puzzles, bowling, fishing and playing a good game of horseshoes!

Paul’s legacy will live on through those he leaves behind. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his two daughters, Bonnie (Susie Leonard) Federico and Elizabeth (John) Sokerka; his grandchildren, Paul (Katie) Sokerka, David Sokerka and Nicholas (Kara) Leonard; and his two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Elin Leonard. He also leaves his brother, Tony (Millie) Federico; his in-laws, Dick Bowen and Marilyn (Dick) Thrasher; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Aside from his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Isabella and Victor Caliguire.

Paul’s family will gather in a private ceremony to bid their farewells to him. His earthly remains will be laid to rest in a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Herkimer.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315) 823-2424, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
