WATERTOWN-OGDENSBURG - Patrick J. Denneny (Hameister), age 81, of Watertown, N.Y., formerly of Ogdensburg, N.Y., passed away peacefully, on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

He was born on May 18, 1943, in Ogdensburg, N.Y., the son of Franklin and Louise (Murphy) Denneny and attended Ogdensburg Schools. Pat also graduated from the Ilion Annunciation Catholic School, where he was appointed the Supreme Grand Knight Altar Boy, of the Annunciation Altar Boys. He also attended Ilion High School, where a teacher, Miss Ward was a great support. Pat was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. His father, Franklin, served as a WW II Veteran, who was killed in action in Iwo Jima and was awarded many honorable awards and medals, including a Purple Heart, which Pat was allowed to keep during his life. At one time, he was married which later ended in divorce. Pat was employed as a carpenter-mason, at Fort Drum, Vesid (Suny) for several years. He also worked in construction most of his life. Pat was a former member of the Annunciation Church, Ilion, St. Mary’s Church, Ogdensburg and most recently attended Holy Family Church and St. Anthony Church, in Watertown. He was a friend of Monsignor Anthony Milia.

Surviving is his daughter, Angela Marie; devoted caring friends and neighbors, Tracie and Patrick Side; and longtime friend, Sue Slabe.

He was predeceased by his mother, Louise (Murphy) Denneny; his father, Franklin Denneny; and two close cousins, Helen Mahoney and Phyllis Bronson.

Pat’s Graveside Catholic Committal Prayer and Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Ogdensburg, N.Y. Pat will be buried with his mother, Louise, honoring his wishes.
