Obituary
Patricia A. Thompson, 73, of North Wales, Pa., formerly of 5 Spofford Ave., Dolgeville, passed away in her home on June 21, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1934 in Ozone Park, Queens, the daughter of Estelle and George Mulvey, the eldest of five children. In 1952, she earned her high school degree in Cambria Heights, Queens.
She was united in marriage to William A. Thompson on June 25, 1955 in The Sacred Heart church in Cambria Heights.
Mrs. Thompson was employed by the Dolgeville Housing Authority and managed the 44-unit Parkside Court Apartments from 1979 to 1998. In addition to faithfully serving the residents of the senior housing complex, she helped oversee the creation of Parkside Court Park at the corner of Main and Lambertson streets and the Desert Storm Memorial at Plowe Park. She was an active member of the Dolgeville Rotary Club and also served a term as president. Her most passionate hobby was sewing, a love she shared with members of Dolgeville?s quilting club. She was also a devoted member of St. Joseph?s parish in Dolgeville.
She is survived by two sons, David Thompson and his wife Mary, Voorhees, N.J., Jim Thompson and his wife Jennifer, Edison, N.J., two daughters, Cindy Thompson, San Diego, Calif., and Nancy Orsino and her husband Rob, Lansdale, Pa., her sister, Barbara Mulvey, San Diego, Calif., brothers, James Mulvey, Tucson, Ariz., and Gerry Mulvey, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and six grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Robbie and Meghan Orsino, Abby, Will and Jack Thompson, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph?s Church, 31 N. Helmer Ave. in Dolgeville. A funeral mass will be held immediately following the visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Salisbury Rural Cemetery on Rt. 29 in Salisbury following the mass.
