Patricia A. Peckay, age 90, passed away on October 16, 2025, from complications of heart disease. At the time of her passing, she had her family by her side. Her husband, the late Frank Peckay, predeceased her in 2013.
Patricia was born on March 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Francis and Marion (Halpin) O’Hara. After completing her schooling, she was married to Frank J. Peckay on April 16, 1955, sharing 58 years together.
When she became a mother and throughout her life, Patricia chose her children first. She was a loving, and devoted mother and her children were blessed. Kind, delightful, gentle and sweetheart are words to describe her by. She will be remembered by many, and her loss is immeasurable.
Patricia had a zest for cooking and baking. She shared that passion with her friends and family. After her retirement from New York Telephone Co after 20 years, she was fortunate to reside again in her countryside surrounding , having grown up on a nearby dairy farm. She welcomed that peaceful setting again as she grew older. Patricia enjoyed her QVC, Hallmark movies and Tom Jones in her earlier years.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish, and prayer and rosary were her daily ritual; she was steadfast and remarkable in her faith. Patricia graduated from St Mary’s Academy where she was a cheerleader and later participated in yearly class reunion dinners, which she so looked forward to.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Beth Peckay and by her brother, Charles O’Hara.
She is survived by her children, Elaine C. Peterson, of Fayetteville, NY, Barbara A. Weber (Leon) of Sagamore, Massachusetts, Tommy F. Peckay (Tiffiny) of Ilion, NY and Francis E. Peckay of Bradenton, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Weber (Elise), Abigail Weber (Danny), Sara Peckay, Garrett Peterson, Elizabeth Peterson, Quintin Williams, TJ Thanzo and Dennis Waugh; along with her great-grandchildren, Nora, Ollie and Mason. Patricia shared in close, loving relationships with Teresa VanAllen, Fay Marosek, Barbara O’Hara and Chuck O’Hara, whom were part of her life. She will be missed dearly.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Patricia’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025 at 11:00AM at Holy Family Parish Church in Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Riley. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery where her earthly remains will be laid to rest.
