HERKIMER - On May 29, 2024, Patricia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving famiy.
“Patti”, as everyone knew her, is survived by her husband, Dale, the love of her life and
Soulmate; her beloved children, Jackie (Jon) Morehouse, Amanda (Colby) Mergenthaler
and Benjamin Janes (Carrie); her sister and best friend, Marileigh (John) Filipczuk; her life
long friends, Linda and Joe Brewer; as well as her sisters, Becky (Les) Hosler and Pamela
Klayer.
Through the years, Patti enjoyed many different careers as a military wife and mother,
but her favorite and most fulfilling job of all was raising her grandchildren for the past 25
years. She adored them beyond words and loved each one with her entire soul.
Her memory will be forever carried on by her cherished grandchildren, Ari Janes (Trey),
Alyssa (Tyler) Martin, Dante Mergenthaler, Hunter Smith (Izzy), Jacob Mergenthaler,
Landon Morehouse and Alice Morehouse; and her amazing great-granddaughter, Lily
Martin.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Gloria; her in-laws, Helen and
Charles; her sisters, Cynthia and Marcia; her brother, David; and her close friend, Diane.
Patti was a beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and
friend. She loved all of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed nothing more than
watching them grow and build families of their own. Throughout her life Patti took in so
many people and treated them as her own nieces, nephews, children and
grandchildren.
Patti and her family would like to extend their thanks and sympathies to the many
amazing friends and medical staff that have helped and become family over the last 7
years, including Rachel, Millie, Morgan and Christa, as well as Becky, Mike and the rest
of the caring staff at Foltsbrook Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220
North Washington Street, in Herkimer, New York. Family and friends are invited to attend both
the calling hours, which are that day, from 10:00 a.m., until 12 NOON and her Funeral Service,
at the funeral home, to follow.
Patti’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors (315-866-1011).
