ILION - Patricia Ann (Reese) McGowan, age 72, formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Sentara Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg, VA.



She was born on July 18, 1941, in Boston, MA, the daughter of William and Mary (Toper) Reese. Pat graduated from Annunciation School and Ilion High School. At one time, she was married to John Tucker. She later married John McGowan who died on December 8, 2005. Pat was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Herkimer Hospital and later at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion. She was an avid Giants fan.



Survivors include her children, John Tucker and his wife, Donna, Kelly Tucker-Torrey, and Chris Tucker and his wife, Michelle; and six grandchildren, Austen Tucker, Robert "Robbie" Torrey, Jr., Aiden Torrey, Chris "C.J." Tucker, Jr., and Reese and Lucas Tucker.



She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, William "Bill" Reese.



Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West St., Ilion, and 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Interment will be in North Columbia Cemetery.



Calling hours are Monday, July 21, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home at 102 West St., Ilion, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory, 2150 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY 13501-1787. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.



Pat's family has entrusted her service arrangements and supervision to their family Funeral Director, Don Applegate, and Funeral Director, Martin L. Ciaccia.
