In Loving Memory 

FRANKFORT - Patricia “Pat” Ann Gizowski age 83, of Frankfort, New York, passed away on New Year’s Day January 1st, 2026, in Herkimer, New York.

Pat was born in Ilion, NY to Ivan & Adelaide (Reynolds) Bunce on April 4th, 1942. She went to school at Frankfort-Schuyler Central graduating in 1959 and went on to attend Utica College of Syracuse University earning a Bachelor’s degree. Pat enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Educator and Mentor, first at Richfield Springs and then at Frankfort-Schuyler Central School. Lovingly known as “Mrs. G.,” Pat spent over three decades growing and enriching students’ lives through her love of the Sciences. She married Carl Gizowski on January 31st, 1970, and was blessed by the birth of their daughter Traci. Always an avid lover of nature, Pat could be found sitting under her favorite white pine at the family camp, identifying the flora and fauna, sharing her knowledge of the natural world, and spending quality time with her many animal companions including Buffy, Cisco & Kyoti.

Pat is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Evelyn Bunce.

Pat is survived by her husband, Carl, and daughter, Traci, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley & Jack Curtis, brother Art Bunce, brother and sister-in-law Irvin & Beth Bunce, nieces & nephews; Kelly, David, Mark, Janet, Christian, Guy, Jerome, Jason, Alayne, Jessica & Jeffery, and brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws Fred & Stacia Gizowski and Joe & Tricia Gizowski.

Memorials may be given to the Herkimer Humane Society at 514 State Route 5S, Mohawk, NY 13407 as it was an organization that Pat supported throughout her life.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at a time to be announced.

Pat’s arrangements have been entrusted to The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road in Ilion, New York.
