ILION - Patricia "Patty" Austin, 57, formerly of E. Clark St., Ilion, passed away on November 9, 2012, at MUSC, Charleston, SC.
She was born on October 13, 1955, in Ilion. Patty graduated from Ilion High School in 1974. She was married to Robert "Bob" Austin on October 27, 1973, in Frankfort. Mrs. Austin attended Ilion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going out with her daughters and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Austin, who was by her side for two months, twenty-four hours a day; her children, Heidi Pettengill and her husband, Russell, Todd Austin and his wife, Michele, William Singer, Richard Austin, and Connie Varieur and her husband, Shawn; her grandchildren, Sean, Joshua, Alexis, Gabrielle, Michael, Todd, Jr., Marissa, Paige, Julia, Katlyn, Gavin and Jace; her siblings, Carol and Ron Gillette, Sharon Putnam, Robert and Donna Adams, Donna and Doug Rockwell and Gary Ray; her in-laws, Grace McDonough, Jean Suiter, John and Vicki Austin and Brian Muzzy; several aunts, uncles and cousins; many special nieces and nephews; and her close friends, Kim, Corky and Jean, just to name a few.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul Adams and Jean and Frank Laventure; a sister, Judy Ray; sisters-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Everson and Evie Muzzy; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Putnam, Donald Suiter and Elmer "Skip" Austin.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Armory Hill Cemetery, Benedict Ave., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber, Pastor of the Morning Star United Methodist Church, officiating. A dinner celebration of Patty's life will follow at the Herkimer VFW Post in Herkimer.
