Herkimer: Mrs. Olga Bavaro, 85, of N. Washington Street, passed away in St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center on Wednesday evening, October 20, 2010.
Olga was born on May 3, 1925 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late John and Mary Kalynycz. She married Sam Bavaro, who passed away in 2002. Olga was employed for twenty-five years as a medical records transcriptionist at Herkimer Memorial Hospital. She was of the Methodist faith.
Olga is survived by a daughter, Dawn Roher and her husband Wayne of Columbia, MD; two grandchildren, Eric and Kelsey Roher; 2 brothers, Walter Kalynycz and his wife Chris of Herkimer and John Kalynycz; a brother-in-law, Dominick Cecconi of Little Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sam, a brother, Peter Kalynycz and three sisters-in-law, Sadie Cecconi, Felicia Lombardo, and Mary Kalynycz, and a brother-in-law, Daniel Lombardo.
In keeping with Olga?s wishes, there are no scheduled services. Those wishing may make contributions in Olga?s memory to the CNY Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation c/o Dawn Roher, 9663 Golden Rod Path, Columbia, MD 21046.
