Norma H. Skinner

ILION – Mrs. Norma H. Skinner, age 90, currently of Ilion and formerly of Wallkill, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2024, at The Grand in Ilion.
Born in Troy, NY on January 23, 1934, Norma was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Chatfield) Halse. Upon her graduation from high school, Norma was married to Mr. Paul Skinner on March 12, 1955, and together they shared in a blessed union of forty-nine years, until Paul’s passing on September 22, 2004.
Norma was a resident of the Wallkill area for most of her life and was known by many in her community for her work in the cafeteria of Wallkill Middle School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Lauren Dennis and husband, Connor, of New Windsor and Angelina Auchmoody of Newburgh; her great-grandchildren, Claire Dennis and Audrey Dennis; her sister, Barbara (Halse) Galge; and her companion for the last decade, David Lamica.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Paul; her only son, Darcy Skinner; her brother, Frank Halse, Jr. and her sister, Janet Lashomb.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes there will be no formal funeral services. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate funeral directors. Final interment will take place in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, NY.
