Norbert Mccumber

Mr. Norbert G. McCumber, 89, a longtime East Herkimer resident, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. He was born in Herkimer on June 21, 1917, son of the late Samuel and Mary (Reese) McCumber and was graduated from Herkimer High School. On March 21, 1957, he was united in marriage with Helen Becker in the Dolgeville Lutheran Church, a blessed union of 49 years. Norbert served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was last employed as a steam plant operator with Griffiss Airforce Base in Rome. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, Herkimer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Helen of Herkimer. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls with the Rev. Tommy Dennis, pastor of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, Herkimer, officiating. Norbert's wishes were pre-arranged and entrusted to the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer, (866-1011).
