Niceta Mueller

June 29, 1952 — March 1, 2026

Dolgeville, New York

In Loving Memory

DOLGEVILLE - Niceta Mueller, age 73, entered eternal rest on March 1st, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her husband and best friend Bill by her side.

Niceta was born on June 29th, 1952, in Little Falls, NY to John Miller and Bernice Lynch Miller.

Niceta graduated from Little Falls High School Class of 1970. She continued her education at Ithaca College receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education. She later received her permanent certification in teaching and became a licensed Driver’s Education Instructor.

She worked as a Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School District for over 30 years and later in her career started a Driver’s Education Program which she passionately believed in and is ongoing to this day at OESJ. She previously taught students how to drive at Little Falls High School and Dolgeville Central School.

Niceta married William Mueller on December 27th, 1975, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Their marriage was truly a blessed union, side by side in everything they did. You rarely saw one without the other and that is the way they chose to spend each and every day.

Niceta was best known for her unique first name, her infectious smile that she loved sharing with everyone, and her beautiful freckles. She was quick to hand out praise but found it difficult to accept compliments. Niceta put others needs ahead of her own and genuinely lived a life of giving. She was especially touched by the fact that so many of her students kept in contact with her throughout the years. She was so proud of all of their accomplishments and had a positive impact on so many of them. Niceta greatly enjoyed the simple things in life such as car rides with Bill, and sitting with each other on the porch talking. Time spent at Speculator and their camp at Spruce Lake were at the top of her list of favorite retreats. She didn’t have to travel far but vacations to Cape Cod and Maine were annual pleasures. Niceta loved playing multiple musical instruments and only a few special people were able to appreciate her performances. She was trained to play the piano as a young girl but the other instruments (parlor organ, Celtic harp, trumpet, accordion, melodica, harmonica, and most recently the bag pipes) were self-taught. Niceta also enjoyed going out to dinner with friends.

Niceta is survived by her adoring husband Bill, two sisters Heather (Rusty) and Dorinda, brother-in-law Philip (Mary) and sister-in-law Carol (Bob). Nieces Tabby, Amanda, Jesse, Carli, Lindy, and Robyn, nephew Joe, and many cherished cousins and their children. Niceta is also survived by many treasured friends and students, too many to name but you know who you are. The outpouring of their love and testimonies at this difficult time is a tribute and special gift to Niceta and very comforting to Bill.

Niceta is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her in-laws Allen and Phyllis Mueller.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to make donations to your favorite charity, but more importantly to Niceta would be to genuinely do something special for someone each and every day. When you do, think of Niceta and smile because she will be smiling at you at that very moment.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Doctor Douglas Haas of Dolgeville, Doctor Young and her staff at the ALS Clinic in Syracuse, and the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care in New Hartford, who all provided kind and compassionate care during this difficult and challenging time.

At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours and services for the family will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, New York.
