Nello Montoni

Nello P. Montoni, 84 a lifelong St. Johnsville resident passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at the home of his daughter, Tracy Montoni, with the support of loved ones by his side. He was born February 26, 1924 in St. Johnsville, the son of the late Pasquale & Elena (Vicciarelli) Montoni, and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1942. After graduating from high school, Nello enlisted in the United State Navy, serving during World War II. He was married to Ada Palombo on June 18, 1944 in St. Johnsville, NY. Nello was last employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, retiring 1988. He was a member of St. Patrick?s Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Ada, his devoted daughter, Tracy Montoni and her significant other, Richard Brown of St. Johnsville, a brother Louis Montoni of Kunkletown, PA, and several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was pre-deceased by a son, Gary Montoni and a sister, Ella Chiodo. Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 29, 2008 at 12:00 noon from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. In keeping with Nello?s wishes there are no calling hours. Spring interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
