MOHAWK – Nancy J. Moore, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the age of 94, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, in the Town of New Hartford, NY, after a brief illness.
Nancy was born on February 16, 1927, in Ilion, New York and was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth (Knight) Waters. She was raised in and lived her entire life in Mohawk, NY. She was a graduate of Ilion High School. She went on to receive her Associate degree in finance from Syracuse University. She was the owner and operator of Superior Home Healthcare, on Route 28, in Herkimer and at one time had worked with Ilion High School, Barringer Road School, Redco, Kellogg’s, and Salada Foods. Nancy excelled at gardening and blooming beautiful flowers. Her pies were absolutely delicious and especially her coffee cake! Nancy was an animal lover as well, having treated her pets so well. She also loved to spend time at her summer cabin on the St. Lawrence River.
Nancy is survived by her children, Richard (Michele) Moore, of Mesa, AZ, Rusty (Kathy) Moore, of Clinton, NY and Scott Moore and Kelly Nash, of Mohawk, NY; her grandchildren, Ricky Moore, Christopher and Kristin Moore, Cassidy Moore, Mathew Moore and her great-grandchildren, Kyler and Cage. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Robert Waters; and sisters, Helen McDermott and Marilyn Francisco.
The family would like to thank the staff at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare for the care that they provided to her.
Friends & relatives are invited to attend visitation for Nancy on Saturday morning, September 25, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd. Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, followed by a Funeral Service and then a procession to Armory Hill Cemetery, where Nancy will be laid to rest.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 State Route 5s, Mohawk, NY 13407, in Nancy’s memory.
Nancy’s final wishes were prearranged and entrusted to her friends and Funeral Directors, Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia.
