Nancy L. Cotton

ILION — Nancy L. Cotton, age 80, of Elizabethtown Road, Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her home, with her husband, Jim, by her side.

She was born on February 27, 1946, in Ilion, the daughter of Earl and Victoria (Boyer) Brewer and attended Ilion Schools. Nancy married James "Jim" B. Cotton on July 31, 1965, at the Columbia Center United Methodist Church. At one time, she was the store manager at Woolworths in Herkimer. She later was manager of the jewelry department at Montgomery Wards, Utica. Most recently Nancy was the owner and operator of Chateau Boutique, in New Hartford. Mrs. Cotton was a very active member of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church, St. Johnsville, NY and Herkimer Free Methodist Church (Oak Ridge) as a Conference Youth Director, Women's groups and Sunday School. She also was active in the Book Club. Nancy loved her family, her home and her dogs.

Surviving family members include her husband, Jim; three children, Robert "Bob" Cotton and his wife, Heather, Brenda Parker and Beth Tannatt; her eight grandchildren, Jessica Parker, Tara LaBruzzo, Laura Parker, Benjamin Cotton, Olive Cotton, Adam Cotton, Jana Tannatt and Randy Tannatt; her two great granddaughters, Maeve LaBruzzo and Lottie LaBruzzo; her sister, Ellie Newberry; her three brothers, Edward Brewer and his wife, Julia, Jonathan Becker and Ricky Brewer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her two sisters, Earline Howard and Sharon Rogers; and her brother, George Becker.

Visitation will be held from 3:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's original location, at 102 West Street, Ilion. Funeral Services will be held following visitation, at 5:00 P.M. Friday, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Marty Burello officiating.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.
