Mrs. Myrtle E. Fuhs, age 85 of Fort Plain, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, in the comfort of her own home with her family at her side.
Myrtle was born in Danube, NY on May 9, 1941, to the late Clarence and Lillian (Harlow) Congdon. On March 25, 1966, Myrtle married her beloved husband Robet J. Fuhs, they shared a loving union of 60 years until his passing in 2021. Myrtle had a strong maternal instinct, always putting other people first. She had a great passion for caring for others and spent many years tending to the care of her home and her family.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Walter J. Fuhs and his wife Donna, her granddaughter Tamsen Fuhs, her siblings; Edie, Earl, Fred and Lois, as well as many nieces and nephews who she cared deeply for, including her great-nephew Wyatt who held a special place in heart. She always enjoyed being in the presence of family and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert, as well as her brothers; Donald Congdon and Ray Congdon.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services. A gathering in her memory will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. She will then be laid to rest with her husband at the Fort Plain Cemetery. Myrtle's family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time, her family also would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Joline for her dedication to Myrtle's care at home.
