ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mitchell “Mitch” Kraft passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2018 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing where he has been residing for the past two years.

Mitch was born April 7, 1958 in New Hartford, NY to parents LaPier Kraft and Dianne (March). Mitch grew up in the St. Johnsville / Fort Plain area and graduated from Fort Plain High School . Mitch has worked many places including Lee Publications and Hannaford in Amsterdam where he resided for many years. Mitch was an avid baseball fan and rooted for the NY Mets. He loved collecting baseball caps. He loved gardening; his dream was to grow vegetables and have his own stand. Ever since he was a small child he loved music. Mitch played the guitar and sang.

He is survived by his mother, Dianne (March) Tripp, of Florida; a brother, Mark Kraft, of Florida; a sister, Kathy Patton, of Florida; an Aunt, Bertha Wagner, of Esperance; his adopted stepmother, Bonny Sweet, of St. Johnsville; adopted brothers and sister, Chris Ferrara (April), of Johnstown, Todd Ferrara, of Gloversville, and Jenny Hutchins (Shawn); and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dad, LaPier Kraft; his aunt, Darlene Daurah; and both sets of grandparents.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street St. Johnsville, Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors. A graveside service at Fort Plain Cemetery will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Mitch was quite a character and he will be missed.
