Mitchell N. Cioch, 89 a long time Frankfort resident, passed away on Saturday February 26, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY. He was born July 8, 1915 in Herkimer the son of the late Thomas & Catherine Cioch and attended catholic schools in Herkimer. His marriage to Elizabeth M. Mullaney took place on July 1, 1940. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for 46 years until the passing of Mrs. Cioch on May 11, 1987. Mitchell was employed at Kelsey Hayes in Utica, until his retirement in 1980. Prior to that owned & operated the family farm. Mr. Cioch was a member of the Annunciation Church in Ilion, where he served as an usher for several years. He also was a member of the CCC Corps. An outdoorsman Mitchell enjoyed fishing and traveling. In his leisure he liked to read. Survivors include 4 daughters; Charlotte Ferguson and husband James of Frankfort, Joanne Hoskey and husband Donald of Ilion, Diane Williams and husband Barry of Herkimer, and Linda Reinhardt and husband Gary of Frankfort, 3 brothers; Chester Cioch and wife Dorothy of Herkimer, Milton Cioch of Herkimer, and Ernie Cioch and wife Pat, a sister; Anne Yette and husband Ted, 10 grandchildren; Shirley Bass, James Ferguson,V, Edward Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Sharon Hansen, Donald Hoskey, Mitchell Hoskey, Frederick Hoskey, Harry Taylor, & Raquel Reinhardt, several great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers; Norbert & Leonard Cioch and a sister; Alice Walts. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2005 at 9:15 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street, between Frankfort & Ilion, (894-8000) and at 10:00 am from the Annunciation Church, Ilion, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Reverend Anthony Barrett, pastor. Interment will be in the spring at Frankfort Center Cemetery, Frankfort, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday March 1, 2005 from 6-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
