ILION - Mildred A. Worden, age 96, formerly of 109 Kent Blvd., Ilion, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford, with her family by her side.







She was born on November 22, 1914, the daughter of George and Edith (Shorey) Miles, and attended Ilion schools. On June 29, 1935, she was married to Victor J. Worden in Frankfort. He died on April 18, 1980. Mildred was employed at Mohawk Valley General Hospital, Ilion, for over thirty years. She loved her family. Mildred also enjoyed working around her yard and feeding the birds and squirrels.







Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Doris and Le Roy Humphrey, and Barbara Humphrey, of Ilion; eight grandchildren, Vickie Pagnotta and her husband, John, of Ilion, Linda Mishalanie, of Sauquoit, NY, Timothy Humphrey and his wife, Kimberly, of Rockford, MI, Scott Humphrey and his wife, Carolyn, of Marcy, David Humphrey and his wife, Tara, of Lewisburg, PA, Julie Worden, of Texas, Michelle Muse and her husband, Mike, of Texas, and Marcus Worden and his wife, Valarie, of Ilion; seventeen great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Mariko Worden, of Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.







She was predeceased by her son, Richard Worden, on April 4, 1974; her brothers, Francis, George, Alvin and Arthur Miles; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Humphrey, on May 14, 2010.







Funeral Services will be held 6 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2011, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Rev. Janet Gleason, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer and Little Falls, officiating. Spring burial will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Visitation will be Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the funeral home service.







The family wishes to thank the staff of the Monroe Community at the Masonic Care Community for their kindness and excellent care.







In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Care Community or Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.







The Worden family have requested that all funeral and burial arrangements be entrusted to their family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
