FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Mildred E. Gay, 94, passed away early Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at the home of her son, where she was surrounded with loving care.
She was born on October 18, 1928, in Schuyler, New York, a daughter to the late Lee and Anna May (Downes) Evans. She attended local schools and had worked with MDS as an assembler.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Agne & fiancé, Richard Garberra; her sons, Donald Gay & significant other, Elieen Hanford, and Ronald Gay, all of Newport; her daughter, Shirley Jackson, of Little Falls; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her children: Robert Gould, George Gay and Elizabeth Weakley; and son-in-law, Brian Jackson.
A very special thank you to all the caregivers during Mildred’s time, Donna Murphy, Melissa Clifford, Eileen Hanford and all the other close friends and family.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 12 Noon, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, NY, with calling hours to be held prior from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service, at 12 Noon. Family and friends are invited to all as well as the burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.
All service arrangements for Mildred have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
