Michael Lewis Turner

We are sad to announce that Michael Lewis Turner, 46 years old, passed away on April 19th, 2024 in Ilion, NY. Michael bravely fought cancer for a year and a half with the love and support of his wife, Jessica Turner, stepdaughter, Aaniyah Brown and close family and friends.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on April 29, 1977, he was the son of the late Stephen Turner and Lynne Eaton. At the age of 18, Mike started at ELG Utica Alloys, where he worked until he was diagnosed. He was a very valued member of the team with a great amount of knowledge he gathered during his twenty-seven years with the company.

Mike’s biggest joy was making people smile. He loved to tease and had the best sense of humor; traits which will be missed greatly by all that knew him. Michael was truly a good man who believed in doing the right thing. We can all benefit by following his favorite saying, “just be a good person.”

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Turner; stepdaughter, Aaniyah Brown; siblings, Melissa Mendoza (Norman) of New Hampshire, Jennifer King (Stephen Mitchell) of Pennsylvania, Tanya Moynihan (Donal) of Ilion, Jonathan Turner (Ashley) of Kentucky and Adam Turner; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, all of which adored him.

Mike was predeceased by his father, Stephen Turner; his mother, Lynne Eaton; his niece, Hannah King; and his nephew, Noah Turner.

We would like to honor Mike’s wishes by having a Celebration of Life gathering, in lieu of a memorial service. Friends and family are invited to join us at Lombardo’s Pizza Plus in Ilion on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM to celebrate a life well lived.
