Michael James Peter Mahl (Mike, Mahly) age 31, originally from Sauquoit resided recently between Fort Ann, NY and Frankfort, NY, sadly, left us on December 7th, 2023.
Mike was born on February 5th, 1992, at St Lukes Hospital in New Hartford NY. A son to the families of Patti and Adam Coffin, Michael and Reta Mahl.
Mike was starting an up-and-coming business knows as “Wax on, Wax Off” as a Handy Man in which he took great pride in. Mike was actively involved with construction and would help any of his friends or family that needed help. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hiking, metal detecting along with buying and selling everything and anything to include sports cards. He previously worked for FC Solar out of Cincinnati for many years. He also volunteered this past year at the Herkimer Co Fair and helped his Aunt Pauline and his Nana Gerry with setting up of several events.
Surviving family members include his Mother Patti Coffin, Step Father Adam Coffin, Step Mom Reta Mahl; Siblings Zachary Mahl, Samantha Kimball (Brandon Schaffer), Jessica Roe (Joshua), Wayne Miller (Elaine), and Randy Miller (Victoria and Children); Special niece and nephew Fae Levellie and Colton Schaffer, he was known to them as Uncle Munk, Nadia, Iyanna, Eevee, Dexter; Grandparents Karen Pierkarski, Maggie Kravec, Ed and Peggy Coffin, Gerrard Parry; Great Grandmother Mary Morrison; Along with His Favorite Uncles, Peter J. Kravec and Derek Coffin and many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews from the Mahl, Wishart, Pierkarski, Coffin, and Kimball families and his father’s dog Sadie, which he loved and adopted at the passing of his father September 2, 2023.
Michael was Predeceased by his father, Michael J. Mahl; Grandparents Geraline “Gerry” Elthorp, Richard “Dick” Elthorp, Peter Kravec, Lyle Mahl. His favorite love Gizmo “Gizzy”
Mike had many close friends, that even with all the struggles, they never gave up on him and always believed in him. G, Fanelli, Dote, Topor, Jones, Bonanza, Natale, Jake, Santini, Jeremy, Kierra, Joey (Dad), Jenna, Matt, and Steve Ragusa. I know how much he loved you all. ONE LOVE.
Calling hours will be Wednesday December 13th, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger facility at 4309 Acme Rd Ilion. Immediately following visitation there will be a celebration of life at the VFW 4274 Acme Rd, Frankfort NY
A special Thank You to Town of Frankfort Police dept and medics. Thank you to that special Officer (Marissa Vomer) that helped me save mikes life 2 years ago, without you we would never of have gotten the time we had with him.
In Lieu of Flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made out to Adam & Patti Coffin, to help with the cost of the funeral and celebration of life.
