Michael A. Knopka

Michael A. Knopka, age 73, of Cedarville passed away peacefully on his birthday with his loving family by his side.

He was born to Stella and Francis Knopka in Barneveld. Mike was a 1971 graduate of Holland Patent High School. He married JoAnn Lorow on March 30, 1974 in Hornell, NY.

Mike had a love for the outdoors, fishing, and especially hunting. He had a passion for firefighting and he held several positions, including Chief in the Cedarville Fire Dept. Mike served in the fire service for 45 years.

Mike is survived by, his wife JoAnn, children, Carrie (Dan) Bass, Michael J. Knopka, and Jay(Crystal) Knopka. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie(Jeff) Ward, Joseph (Karie) Bass, Shaylyn Dolly, Riley Knopka, Alyssa Knopka, Stella Knopka, and Lucas Knopka. Great Grandchildren, Taylor Ward, Ryder Ward, and Clayton Bass. Also Survived by one brother, James Knopka.

He was predeceased by his parents, and special great-grandson, Hunter Ward.

There will be a celebration of life for Mike in the spring at a date later to be announced.
