Michael Dodge

ILION - Michael ?Mike? J. Dodge Sr., age 63, of Colonial Circle, Ilion, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born on June 28, 1945, in Herkimer, the son of Joseph and Inez (Conrand) Dodge. On Oct. 27, 1972, he was married to Janet Rogers at St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. Mike was a longtime resident of the Mohawk Valley. He was a truck driver for many years. Mike and his wife Janet loved to travel together and enjoyed spending time with their family. Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and John Bush of Utica; his son, Michael J. Dodge Jr. and his fiance´e Angela Javitz of Ilion; his beloved grandson, Brandon Michael Dodge; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Deacon James Bower officiating. Interment will be in Frankfort Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Dodge Sr. Special Memorial Fund, c/o Janet Dodge, 109 Colonial Circle, Ilion, N.Y. 13357.
