MOHAWK - Mary Ann Wainwright, age 82, of State Route 5S, Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at home.
She was born on January 26, 1931, in Herkimer, the daughter of Edwin and Alice (Coons) McDonald, and graduated from Mohawk High School. On April 30, 1949, she was married to Maurice "Moe" Wainwright in Mohawk. He died on May 8, 2010. At one time, she was employed in the cafeteria at Mohawk schools. Mary Ann enjoyed her home and family. Mary Ann has really missed her husband since his passing in 2010.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Angelo Tarantino, of West Palm Beach, FL, and Chris and Roger Watkins, of Mohawk; six grandchildren, Derek Zeh and his wife, Jen, Kristin Smith and her husband, John, Adam Zeh and his wife, Julianna, Kyle Watkins, Matt Watkins and Nathan Wainwright; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sylvia Corr, of Ohio, Ellen DeFio, Maureen Malay and her husband, Bernie, and Ann Burgmeier and her husband, Dave, all of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband; her son, David; and her brother, Robert McDonald.
Funeral services will be held later this spring at the convenience of the family. There are no scheduled calling hours. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery.

The Wainwright family has entrusted Mary Ann's arrangements to their family Funeral Director and friend, Don Applegate.
