Mary Papa

Mary Papa, 94, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2005, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born FebruaryA 11, 1911 in Troy, NY, and was educated in Italy. Her marriage to Dominick J. Papa took place on September 3, 1933 at St. Patrick?s Church in St. Johnsville, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 65 years until the passing of Mr. Papa on February 11, 1999. Mrs. Papa was last employed at the former Corso Dress Factory in St. Johnsville, NY. Mary was a member of St. Patrick?s Church. Survivors include a son Sam Papa and wife Mary of West Monroe, NY, 4 grandchildren; Kelly Frank and husband Michael, of Wakefield, MA., Michael Papa and wife Lisa of Manlius, Mark Papa and wife Maria of Brewerton, & Timothy Papa and wife Jennifer of Camillus, a niece, Jennifer Jones and husband Jeff of Fort Plain, 11 great grandchildren, and several in-laws. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Diane Moore and a sister Jenny Gurnacci. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 9, 2005 at 9:30 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 10:00 am from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday April 8, 2005 from 3-6 pm.
