ILION – Mary Ann Millar, age 91, of Ilion, New York, passed away, on June 11, 2024, after a brief illness.

Mary Ann was born on April 3, 1933, the fourth of five children, born to Italian immigrants, Margaret (Baltico) and Americo Risi. She graduated from Herkimer High School, in 1950 and met Arnold Millar while working at Standard Furniture Company, in Herkimer. They married on August 23, 1958, at St. Anthony’s Church in Herkimer. God blessed them with 65 years together.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Arnold (Buzz); her daughter, Cheryl Netti and husband, Nick; her son, Brian Millar; her grandchildren: Danica Rockwood and her husband, Matt, Nicholas Netti and his fiancée, Angela Rifenburg and Annie and Sophie Millar; her sister-in-law, Adelaide Daly; and her brother, Richard Risi and his wife, Loretta. She also leaves behind step- grandchildren, Andrew Gahan and wife, Jennifer, their daughters, Kennedy and Kory and William Gahan and his children, Gloria and Billy.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Victoria Ameduri and Angela Vella; her brother, Lawrence Risi; and in-laws, Fiore Ameduri, Tony Vella, Janet Risi and Ted Daly.

Mary Ann was last employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Herkimer ARC and previously at Norman’s Roofing and Siding. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Through the years, she was a member of various local parishes, including Sts. Anthony & Joseph, of Herkimer, Church of the Annunciation, of Ilion and the Blessed Sacrament Church, of Mohawk. She was a member of the church choir, at Blessed Sacrament, for over thirty years.

Mary Ann loved her family with her whole heart. She enjoyed a special bond with her late sister, Angela and had many close friends. She will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, beginning with a calling hour, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, thence her Mass of Christian Burial, at Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, South Main Street, in Herkimer and a final burial service will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.

Family and friends are invited to share the day as the calling hour will be on Thursday, JUNE 20, 2024, at the funeral home, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. We will then proceed to Church where the Mass will begin, at 10:00 a.m., that morning and burial to follow.

Donations in loving memory of Mary Ann may be considered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of your choice.
