Mary Mcevoy

Mary L. McEvoy, age 79, of 100 West Main Street, Ilion, passed away on Monday June 7, 2004 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer. She was born on September 4, 1924 in Ilion, daughter of the late William and Katherine (Quinn) Plumb and received her education in Ilion schools. She attended Annunciation, and later went on to attend Ilion High School. She had been a longtime resident of this area. Mary had last worked with the Prospect Inn in Herkimer as a desk clerk. She was of the catholic faith and enjoyed reading. Beside reading books, Mary loved British T.V., action movies, John Travolta movies, and musical artists including: the Bee Gee's, Barry Manilow, and Paul Anka. She was the wife of James M. McEvoy and is survived by her son John McEvoy of South Portland, ME; a daughter: Michele McEvoy of Biddeford, ME; several nieces and nephews and a sister in law: Mrs.Sara Aloisio of Ilion. She was predeceased by three sisters. In honor of the wishes of Mary, cremation has taken place under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street Between Ilion & Frankfort (894-8000).
