Mary Frances Lavallo

HERKIMER – Mary Frances LaVallo, 95, of Herkimer and Vero Beach , Florida , passed away on Monday February 11, 2019, in Vero Beach , Florida .

Mrs. LaVallo was born on January 27, 1924, in Little Falls, NY to parents Gaspare and Assunta (Tucci) Palombi. She married her sweetheart Attilio “Butch” LaVallo, on September 12, 1942, a blessed union of 69 years. Butch passed away September 27, 2011. The couple had purchased and moved into the house next to Butch’s childhood home in Herkimer, where they raised four children, Ann Lee Fuller, of Margaretville, NY and Vero Beach, FL, Patricia Gadziala, of Fairfax, Virginia, who passed away in 2009, Pasquale LaVallo, of Vero Beach, Florida, and Susan Hilliard, of Orlando, Florida.  Also surviving are her sister, Toni (Grosse) Zogby; her grandson, Reid Gadziala; four sons-in-law, Stuart Fuller, Edward Gadziala, John Hilliard and Christopher Waelbroeck; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The LaVallo family home was a loving place for family and friends, so specially taken care of by Mary as Butch ran the C&L Wholesale business. The garden was always plentiful, and they commonly anticipated the planting season by starting seedlings in the house while snow remained on the ground outside.  Mary was a talented seamstress as well as crafter and many of her pieces have been passed down to family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 9:00 AM, at the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main Street , in Herkimer , NY , with a funeral procession to follow to Calvary Cemetery , Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Attilio.
