Little Falls: Mrs. Mary R. Celio, 90, of E. Main Street, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014, with her loving family at her side, in Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Little Falls.



Mary was born on February 17, 1923 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Angelo and Nicolina (Ferraro) DiBitetto. She grew up on Flint Avenue and was a lifelong Little Falls resident. She received her education in Little Falls Schools. On September 16, 1951, she and Thomas Celio were married in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls, forming a long and loving union of nearly 56 years, until his passing in 2007.



She was employed at Salada Foods, Little Falls, retiring in 1985. Mary was a faithful communicant of Holy Family Parish and a member of its Rosary Society. She loved to cook, crochet, knit, and sew, and was an accomplished baker and creator of numerous recipes. She especially loved Italian cuisine, and loved to watch cooking shows. Mary was extremely proud of her Italian heritage.



Surviving Mary are her loving children and their spouses, Thomas and (Karen) Celio, Barbara and (Larry) Ortlieb, and Michael and his fiance´, Emma Ahmetovic, all of Little Falls; four cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Dana, Andrew, and Kyle Celio; great-granddaughter, Jayla Seabron; and several nieces and nephews, especially her very special nephew and niece, Joseph DeLorenzo of Little Falls, and Joanna and (David) VanGorder of St. Johnsville. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; and sisters, Philomena (Fannie) DeLorenzo and Anna DiBitetto.



Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls. Mary's funeral will begin with a prayer service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 15 at the funeral home. The Reverend Terence Healy will celebrate her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Holy Family Parish Church, East Main Street . We will then process to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where Mary will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Tom.



Mary's family would like to thank the staff of Alpine Rehabilitation and Dr. David Liu for the excellent care and kindness shown during her illness.
