Mary Carter

Mary Ann Carter, 72, a life long Herkimer resident, passed away on Friday March 21, 2008 at Faxton ? St.Luke?s Healthcare, New Hartford, NY. She was born November 19, 1935, in Herkimer the daughter of the late Hector and Rose (Blair) Frechette and was educated in Herkimer schools. Her marriage to Eugene F. Carter took place June 8, 1957, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. Mrs. Carter was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church. Mary Ann was a woman who committed all her energy and her ability to her family and her home; she believed that taking care of her loved ones was her primary responsibility in her life. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Gene, two sons, Stephen Carter and wife Linda of Old Forge and Scott Carter and wife Kelly of Scottsdale, Arizona, four grandchildren, Ashley Benoit, Kyndra Benoit, Stefanie Carter and Kaleigh Carter, a sister, Mabel Zawtocki and husband Matthew of Herkimer, and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Betty Davis and Esther Theriault. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at 11:00 am from St. Francis de Sales Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated by Reverend Mark Cunningham. In keeping with Mary Ann?s wishes there are no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church
