Mary Bunce

ILION - CEDARVILLE - Mary L. Bunce, 69, of State Route 51, Ilion (Cedarville) passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 13, 2007, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Mary was born June 21, 1937, in Sherburne, N.Y., daughter of Miles and Hilda (Edick) Parsons. She was a graduate of Ilion High School ?Class of 1955.? Mary married her high school sweetheart Donald V. ?Don? Bunce on Oct. 11, 1956, in Herkimer. They shared a blessed and devoted union of almost 51 years. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to her beloved family, loving to cook and care for them. She enjoyed the beauty and aroma of flowers, and traveling to North Carolina with her husband Don to visit her loved ones. Survivors include her husband Don at home; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Angel Bunce of Polkton, N.C.; four cherished grandchildren, Cody, Caitlin, and the twins Christian and Caleb Bunce; her mother, Hilda Parsons of Ilion; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Jean Parsons of Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Anna Parsons of Sherburne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Miles Parsons, and brothers, Edward, Bob and Don Parsons. Mary's funeral service will be held Saturday, June 16, commencing at 11 a.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber of the Ilion United Methodist Church officiating. Procession to Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, for interment will follow. Family and friends are invited to visitation Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Mary's name to Herkimer County Humane Society. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
