Mary Jane (Bugaj) Oleszek

Mary Jane (Bugaj) Oleszek, 72, a former Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 7, 2023 at Jacksonville Beach Baptist Hospital.
Born in Little Falls on February 16, 1951, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Theodore and Frances (Swietlikowski) Bugaj. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Class of 1968. She furthered her education by attending Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing and Syracuse University.
Mary Jane initially worked for The Herkimer County Trust Company and County Federal Savings and Loan in the Mohawk Valley and later for The Institute of Police Technology and Management at the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville, Florida. She finished her work career as Registrar, retiring in 2016.
Mary Jane was also a volunteer in numerous community service organizations in Northeast Florida.
On August 27, 1978, she married Theodore (Ted) Oleszek, with whom she shared a union of 45 years. Mary Jane is survived by her husband Ted; her sons, Michael and wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FL and Stephen of Tallahassee, FL.; her grandsons, Cooper and Parker of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves her brother, Thomas Bugaj and wife Helen of Dewitt; brother-in-law Walter Oleszek and wife Janet of Fairfax, Va. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no services and burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
