Mrs. Mary E. Bokowski, of 139 Shells Bush Road, Herkimer, passed away on Sunday morning, December 19, 2004 at the Valley Health Services in Herkimer. She was born in Little Falls; a daughter of the late Bryant and Hazel (White) Kelly and received her education at St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls. She had been a lifelong area resident. Mary joined in marriage with Carl J. Bokowski on April 29, 1950 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Herkimer, a loving union of over 46 years until the passing of Carl on December 20, 1996. She had last worked full time with General Electric in Utica as an assembler and final tester. Most recently Mary worked part time with Wal Mart in Herkimer, a job she truely enjoyed. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, and devoted many hours tending to the children of the school especially during the lunch hour. She took great pride in her irish heritage, and her kind heart and warm smile will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved family including two daughters: Gloria Malone and her husband Joseph of Herkimer, and Carol Oyer and her husband David of Herkimer; grandchildren: Cathleen and Jim Boyer; Joseph Malone, Jr., and Colleen Malone, David Oyer, Stephanie Oyer, and Amanda Oyer; a great granddaughter: Kelly Boyer; a brother: Frank Kelly of Little Falls; sisters: Rose Jones and her husband George of Little Falls; Florence Bacher and Rhea Cannerelli of Little Falls; several nieces nephews and cousins, and In Laws: George and Mary Jane Bokowski of Florida; Marilyn Ackler of Florida; Geraldine Bokowski of Herkimer; Anne Bokowski of Van Hornesville; and Gloria Jones and her husband Merle of Cedarville. She was predeceased by her brothers: Bryan and William Kelly; and a sister: Vera Kraszewski. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 22, 2004 at 9:30 AM from the Holleran - Enea Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, and at 10:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street Herkimer, with the Rev. Mark Cunningham, Pastor Celebrating her Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday evening Dec. 21st, from 5 - 8 PM. Donations in memory of Mary may be considered to St. Francis de Sales School. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family extends their appreciation to Valley Health Services for the care offered, along with Fr. Cunningham and the Sisters of St. Francis de Sales for their pastoral care.
