Marion B. Stowell, 81, of 6505 State Highway 29, passed away on Thursday Feb. 28, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, NY. She was born December 31, 1926 in Dolgeville the daughter of the late Bernard & Marion (Euron) Bailey and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1944. Marion furthered her education by attending Oswego College. Her marriage to Ernest D. Stowell took place on January 18, 1947. Mr. Stowell passed away in 1985. Mrs. Stowell was last employed at the former Daniel Green?s Shoe Company in Dolgeville. She was a devoted member of the Oppenheim United Methodist Church and a member of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens. With family as her foremost priority, Marion proved herself a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed sewing and reading. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Cool and husband Donald of Oppenheim, and Kathryn Miles and Husband Donald of Lassellsville, a son Wayne Stowell and wife Bonnie of Oppenheim, four grandchildren, Trell Stowell, Terra Stowell, Ty Stowell and wife Heather and Melissa Cool, a great grandson, Parker Stowell and a great granddaughter, Reed Stowell, a sister, Joan Mowers of Dolgeville, two brothers, William Bailey and wife Joann of Salisbury and Leonard Bailey of Oppenheim, a sister-in-law, Nancy Bailey of Salisbury, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Bernard Bailey. In keeping with Marion?s wishes there are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Arrangements are by the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. All memorials may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
