Marion Helmer

Herkimer: Marion I. Helmer, 88, of Herkimer, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare, New Hartford. Marion was born December 3, 1921 in Mohawk, the daughter of the late Peter and Inez (Dyer) Hext. Her marriage to Wilfred Helmer took place on June 6, 1953 in Herkimer and he passed away February 1994. She was employed at Sperry Rand Ilion, at one time. Survivors include her brother: Donald Hext; three sisters: Norma Harper, Ann Sohns, and Jean Lytwynec; nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Rich. Funeral services were held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2010 from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion-Frankfort. The family is being served by Harry J. Enea, of the Enea Family Funeral Home.
