Marie "Therese" Martin

Mrs. Marie “Therese” Martin, age 93, formerly of Barringer Road, Ilion, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Georgetown, TX.

Therese was born July 18, 1932 in Edmundston, New- Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Philippe and Clauda (Albert) Martin.

On January 29, 1955, Therese married Roger Martin in Edmundston, New-Brunswick, Canada. They spent over 60 years together raising their family.

Therese was a loving and nurturing mother and homemaker. As her children grew, she found time to enjoy needle work, sewing and ceramics. In later years, she especially loved to sit with family and friends on the tandem wooden swing which Roger built so they could relax together and enjoy the beautiful view of the Valley.

She is survived by her son, Roger Martin, Jr of Pennsylvania, daughters Janet (Joseph) King of Texas, Joanne (Jay) Cunningham of Pennsylvania, Susan (Jeff) Venditte of Texas, Mary Jean (Mike) Pettengill of South Carolina, brother, Philippe Martin and sister Huguette Guerrette both of Canada. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Marc Soules II, Jeff (Regina) King, Steve (Lianna) King, Bryan (Jenn) Cunningham, Daniel (Alyssa) Cunningham, Michelle (Mia) Kasper, Pamela Kasper, Scott (Veronica) Kasper II, Christina (James) Williams, Eileen Frances (Mason) Mikkelsen, Christopher Pettengill, Katie (Josh) Gmys and Amy (Kenny) Keith. Much to her pleasure she was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband (2016) and daughter, Verna Kasper (2004), her parents, brothers Jean-Eudes and Claude and sister Colette. She carried the memory of them in her heart always.

Marie's funeral service will commence on Thursday, May 7,2026 at 10:30AM at the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Paul Catena, Pastor. Procession will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery in Ilion where Marie's earthly remains will be laid to rest with her beloved, Roger.
