Marian Smith

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Marian G. Smith (Dolly), 78, of Ann St. entered into eternal rest peacefully on July 4, 2010 at home with her loving family at her side.



She was born on December 16, 1931 in St. Johnsville, daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (Lieber) Carter.



Dolly was very active in her community. She was a 63 year member of the St. Johnsville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; she was an Elections Inspector for 40 years and she was a Dispatcher for SAVAC for 16 years. She was also a member of the Pumpkin Patrol ensuring the safety of her neighbors. She was currently the Active Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary and remained very active in her community until she got sick.



Survivors include her daughters: Loretta Battisti and her husband Francis of St. Johnsville, Paula Wilsey and her husband Clement of South Carolina and Judy Congdon and her significant other Paul Rice of St. Johnsville; her sons Fredrick Smith and his wife Iris of Tribes Hill, William C. Smith of St. Johnsville and Scott Smith of South Carolina; her 22 grandchildren, her 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Chester, her son Brian, her brothers William and Richard, and her sister Charlotte.



In keeping with Dolly?s wishes there will be no calling hours. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. St. Johnsville. Kindly consider donations in Dolly?s name to the St. Johnsville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
